John Riggs was born and raised in Yakima. He moved away from Washington state for about 10 years, but moved back home, bringing along his wife and three kids. You'll find John in town snapping photos when he's covering new business openings, especially restaurants. He loves to help spread the word, and to encourage folks to shop local first. John also loves to travel, always looking for quick weekend getaways, attending events, and fan expos around the country. Don't be too shy to say, "Hi!"

There’s a Chance Yakima Might Be Getting an IHOP Again… Kinda
IHOP (International House of Pancakes if you're a boomer) was a nice place for more than just pancakes. I mean, yes, of course they have several varieties of pancakes they promote as well, but you can get other breakfast and even lunch and dinner items as well...

As Yakima patiently waits for Jersey Mike's to finally come to Yakima, it'll have to wait a little bit longer. But not very much longer.
When news broke of Yakima finally getting a Jersey Mike's, many were very excited, myself included...
Did You Know? Pickleball was Invented in WA
Though Pickleball has been around since the 1960s, many may be surprised to find out that it was invented right here in Washington state.
Pickleball, if you're not familiar, is a little like tennis or ping-pong. Not as fast or as 'hard core' as tennis but also not as precise as ping-pong...
Yakima’s Coldest Days are Behind Us with Warmer Weather in the Future
We've been in this transitional time where some days may be warmer than others and sometimes you might find frost on your windshield or your lawn. I Experienced the New ‘InBody’ Composition Scan at Yakima Athletic Club
The other day I heard about this new thing you can do at the Yakima Athletic Club called an InBody 570. It's so much more than just a scale. Think of it like a scale but instead of just a full-body weight it weighs each individual limb (each arm, each leg, etc) as well as water retention, muscle mass, and a lot more...
