It's Back-to-School time in the Yakima School District and many high school students are excited to get back to seeing their friends and learning new stuff. They also look forward to getting new school clothes, shoes, and accessories to add some razzle dazzle to their outfits and they also get new backpacks.

Well, at least SOME high school students use their new backpacks. Others take an unconventional approach to carrying their things in class hallways during the school day. A Davis High School senior student recently posted a hilarious TikTok video of some fellow Davis High School students using anything but a backpack to carry their books and supplies. We couldn't believe some of the unexpected and hilarious items that these Davis High School students used to shuffle around their heavy books, folders, pencils, and other class materials, as you will see listed below. We think even Dora the Explorer and her sidekick, Boots, would be quite impressed! 😊

CASE IN POINT

Part one of the TikTok video, "Anything but a backpack" posted by @lali.ramirez3 was so popular and hilarious it went somewhat viral! It gained so many likes on TikTok that Lali made a part two and part three. We couldn't believe some of the items that students decided to use to shuffle around those heavy books, folders, pencils, and other class materials.

When I was a high school student, we either used a backpack to carry our school stuff or just left them in our lockers. These Gen Z teens however, have found some interesting backpack substitutes. Perhaps us Gen X'ers and Millennials could learn a thing or two from them!
