COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The sink-or-swim indoctrination of new Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud continues when the freshman leads the No. 3 Buckeyes against No. 12 Oregon on Saturday. Stroud shook off early wobbles and tossed four second-half touchdown passes to bury Minnesota in the Buckeyes' season opener. There will be scant room for mistakes against Oregon for Stroud, who got little playing time behind Justin Fields in the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. Oregon had its own struggles and barely got past unranked Fresno State in its opener. New starting quarterback Anthony Brown won it for the Ducks with a 30-yard keeper with 2:57 left in the game.
