Yakima Isn’t the Most Ghetto City in Washington, But We Know Who Is
Growing up in Yakima, I kept hearing how "ghetto" it was. I didn't see it or believe it, and being someone who is pro-Yakima, I refused to accept that sentiment. So when a list of the "most ghetto" cities in Washington came out, I was happy to find that, according to the numbers, Yakima isn't the state's most ghetto city. It's not even in the top 10. Here are the cities that are, though.
This list was compiled from all cities in Washington with at least 10,000 people and based on things like crime, household income, graduation rates and more.
Right at No. 1? Lakewood, just south of Tacoma.
Many of these cities are on the other side of the mountains, but Sunnyside does make a cameo appearance.
