After a successful weekend at the plate, Jace Van De Brake was named West Coast League player of the week Monday (June 8).

Van De Brake, a Yakima native, hit .600 (6-10) in the opening series and drew six walks to bring his on-base percentage to .750. In Sunday’s win against Klamath Falls, Van De Brake reached in all six of his plate appearances and had an RBI double.

The redshirt freshman from Gonzaga was only one of many Pippins who made big offensive contributions this weekend. After three games, the Pippins lead the WCL in numerous offensive categories, including average (.343), runs (32), hits (34), walks (27), stolen bases (9) and on-base percentage (.500).
