Renovation work is underway at the Yakima School District's Zaepfel Stadium. The grass football field is all but torn up in preparation for new field turf going in. Also a new track will go in along with new lights. The total cost for the project is $4.5 million.

The Yakima School District had initially stated that the project would be ready for the Sept. 12 football game between Davis and Walla Walla. Now school district officials are saying the project might not be finished until mid- to late October.

If that's the case, Davis and Eisenhower high schools would have to find alternative sites to play home games.
