Yesterday the Environmental Protection Agency finalized its “Waters of the United States” proposed rule, which unilaterally strips private property rights and adds hundreds of thousands of stream miles and acres of land to federal jurisdiction. Under the guise of clarifying the Clean Water Act, the EPA and the Army Corps added ambiguous language to the law that leaves regulation up to the subjectivity of individual regulators across the country. So far the response from the ag community has been negative with many groups still reviewing the rule.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory released a new study that found most of the existing fuel dispensing infrastructure components, including underground storage tanks, are compatible with E15. The researchers interviewed retail fuel equipment experts and examined manufacturer warranty statements, official records, and industry trends in a multifaceted look into the compatibility of fuel blends beyond E10 with all retail station fuel dispensing equipment.
