PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Washington State has hired JaMarcus Shephard as inside receivers coach, replacing David Yost.

Coach Mike Leach said Shephard spent the past two seasons as the receivers coach at Western Kentucky.

Last season, Western Kentucky finished fourth in FBS in passing average at 372 yards per game. Shephard coached a receiving group that caught 290 passes for 48 touchdowns.

Shephard began his coaching career in 2005 at Northrop High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He has also coached at DePauw University.
