SEATTLE (AP) — Washington has signed coach Mike Neighbors to a contract extension through the 2022-23 season with the Huskies coming off their first Final Four appearance in school history.

Washington announced the extension Friday. Neighbors just completed his third season as Washington's head coach. He originally signed a five-year deal in 2013 and had two years added to that original contract after reaching the NCAA Tournament in 2015.

But the Huskies reached new heights this season. Led by guard Kelsey Plum, the Huskies upset Maryland, Kentucky and Stanford to reach the Final Four. Washington lost to Syracuse in the national semifinals.

Neighbors is 69-35 in his three seasons at Washington. He says he hopes this contract extension shows "our intention to have a program our fans can be proud to support for a very long time."
