Verlander, King Felix Match Up Wednesday

SEATTLE (AP) — AL Cy Young Award winners Felix Hernandez (6-4, 3.55 ERA) and Justin Verlander (12-6, 3.52) square off when the Mariners host the Tigers Wednesday.

Hernandez won his prize in 2010 and has finished in the top 10 in Cy Young Award voting in four of five seasons since.

Verlander won in 2011 and was runner-up in 2012 but hasn't been in the top 10 since, although his 9.6 strikeouts per nine innings this season represent his best rate since 2008.
