TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — The impact of the new Washington administration's temporary ban on immigrants from seven majority- Muslim countries has hit the sports world. Iran has now banned U.S. wrestlers from this month's Freestyle World Cup in response to President Donald Trump's executive order halting visas for Iranians.

U.S. freestyle wrestlers have competed in Iran since 1998, while wrestlers from Iran have made 16 visits to the U.S. as guests of USA Wrestling since the 1990s.
