Twist It, Turn It: Rubik’s Cube Championship This Weekend
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — It's a puzzle most people never could figure out.
But for the 500 contestants gathering on South Carolina's Hilton Head Island this weekend, solving a Rubik's Cube - and doing it in seconds - is second nature.
Media outlets report the contestants are at the Hilton Head Island Beach & Tennis Resort from Friday through Sunday to decide the national title.
The plastic cubes are covered with multicolored squares. Players have to twist and turn the cubes so that each side of the cube ends up the same color.
One of those competing is Weston Mizumoto, a two-time national champion. He can solve the puzzle with one hand and in about 10 seconds.
