Eastern Washington routs D-III member George Fox 126-64

CHENEY, Wash. (AP) — Venky Jois scored 18 of his 29 points in the first half and Eastern Washington rolled to a 126-64 rout of Division III member George Fox on Sunday night.

The Eagles (1-1) bounced back after blowing a 10-point, second half lead in a 106-88 loss to Mississippi State in their opener on Friday.

Jois, the preseason MVP of the Big Sky Conference, was 13 of 15 from the field, including six dunks. Bogdan Bliznyuk scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Eagles.

Eastern Washington's Austin McBroom added 19 points with a career-high 10 assists, surpassing his previous high of six he had against NCAA-tournament-bound Indiana State in December 2013.

Jacoby Wolfe scored 19 points on 8-of-8 shooting, and was 3 of 5 from the line to lead George Fox.

The Eagles 126 points surpassed the previous school record of 124 against Eastern Montana in 1969.

SACRAMENTO ST-SEATTLE

Graves' big game helps Sacramento State top Seattle 77-65

SEATTLE (AP) — Marcus Graves scored a career-high 24 points, and Sacramento State used a big second half to pull away from Seattle for a 77-65 win on Sunday.

Graves, who hit 7 of his 15 attempts and added five rebounds and five assists, had 20 points in the Hornets' win over Arizona State on Friday after totaling just 16 points as a freshman last season.

Seattle led by as many as 8 points early in the second half, but Jiday Ugbaja's layup sandwiched between two 3-pointers from Graves tied the game. Graves and Jeff Wu, who had 12 of his 14 points in the second half — including three 3-pointers — helped Sacramento State (2-0) pull away.

Sacramento State outscored Seattle in the second half 52-38.

Brendan Westerndorf had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Seattle (2-0). Jack Crook and William Powell also pulled down 10 boards, with the Redhawks holding a 54-40 rebounding advantage.

STANFORD-GONZAGA

No. 16 Stanford women close strong to beat Gonzaga 65-47

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Erica McCall scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and No. 16 Stanford closed the game with a 19-1 run to defeat Gonzaga 65-48 on Sunday.

A 3-pointer by Lili Thompson, who scored 21 points, put the Cardinal (2-0) up 46-38 with 8:50 to play but the Bulldogs (1-1) responded with 9 straight points, taking a 47-46 lead on Kiara Kudron's free throw at the 6:23 mark.

McCall answered with a layup for the 11th lead change and then the Cardinal hit three straight 3s, Thompson sandwiching a pair around one from Karlie Samuelson for a 57-47 lead.

Gonzaga missed its last 12 shots to finish at 25 percent for the half and 31 percent for the game. The Bulldogs were 3 of 21 from behind the arc and 9 of 20 from the foul line.

Jill Barta led Gonzaga with 11 points and Ellie Tinkle had 10.

PORTLAND-UC DAVIS

UC Davis never trails in 81-64 win over Portland

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — Brynton Lemar scored 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting and UC Davis beat Portland 79-66 on Sunday night.

Josh Fox scored 15, Darius Graham added 12 and Nolan Berry, 10. Led by Neal Monson's 15 rebounds, the Aggies (1-1) out-rebounded the Pilots 53-33, but were hurt by 20 turnovers that resulted in 28 Portland points.

Graham opened with a 3-pointer and UC Davis never trailed, steadily pulling to a 31-13 lead after Lawrence White hit back-to-back 3s. The Pilots gained ground with a 13-4 run, but were outshot 46.7 percent to 36.6 percent in the half and were down 41-31 at halftime.

Lemar and Berry each hit 3s to open the second half and the Aggies built a 20-point lead with 3:33 to play. Bryce Pressley and D'Marques Tyson each hit 3s in Portland's closing 13-4 run.

Alec Wintering led the Pilots (1-1) with 17 points and six assists, Tyson scored 15 points and Pressley, 10.

T25-OREGON-NORTH CAROLINA

Oregon beats No. 22 North Carolina women 79-77

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Lexi Bando scored 18 points, Jillian Alleyne had 12 points and 13 rebounds and Oregon upset No. 22 North Carolina 79-77 on Sunday, marking the first time the Tar Heels ever opened the season with two straight losses.

After Oregon's Alleyne, who scored her 70th double-double, made the second of two free throws with 25 seconds left, the Tar Heels had two chances to win. Jamie Cherry's 3-pointer went off the front of the rim but deflected out of bounds of Alleyne. Cherry then had a 3 bounce off the backboard and rim as time expired.

Cherry led North Carolina, which opened the season Friday with a one-point home loss to Gardner-Webb, with 23 points.

Oregon (1-0) led by 10 on Kat Cooper's 3 with 6:45 to play but with Cherry scoring 5 points North Carolina reeled off 9 straight points. Bando hit a 3 for the Ducks with three minutes left.

N'Dea Bryant scored of UNC at 2:05, Alleyne made two of four free throws to push the lead back to 4. Cherry made it a 1-point game with 26 seconds left.

Hilary Summers, Stephanie Watts and Destinee Walker had 14 points each North Carolina.
