The Mid-season Break Has Begun

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The NBA's All-Star game was awarded to Charlotte, North Carolina, but when the state instituted a law that the NBA felt restricted the rights of LGBT people, the game was moved to New Orleans. This marks the third time the Crescent City has hosted the mid-season extravaganza.

The weekend is full of exhibition events and on Sunday the game itself will be played.

A check of the standings at the break shows defending champion Cleveland on top of the Central Division and the Eastern Conference standings while Golden State is once again in first place in the Pacific Division and the Western Conference with the best record in the league.

The other division leaders are Boston in the Atlantic, Washington in the Southeast, San Antonio in the Southwest and Utah in the Northwest.
