The Yakima Bears defeated the Eugene Emeralds 10-1 Tuesday night at PK Park in Eugene, Oregon. The Emeralds still took the five-game series 3-2, but the Bears also stayed tied for first in the Northwest League’s East Division with a 2-3 record.

The Yakima Bears were shutout 3-0 by the Eugene Emeralds at PK Park in Eugene, Oregon Monday night. Cody Wheeler cruised through five innings on the mound, but the Bears bats managed a total of four hits and no runs. Despite their third loss in four games to begin the 2012 campaign, the Bears remain in a four-way tie for first place in the NWL East division.

The Yakima Bears lost 6-5 in 10 innings in the opening game of the Northwest League season Friday night at PK Park in Eugene, Oregon. The Bears could not overcome Eugene first baseman Clark Murphy, who started the 2012 season by electrifying the 3,569 fans at PK Park.

Right-handed pitcher Alex Capaul has been selected as the starting pitcher for the Yakima Bears on opening day. Capaul’s start Friday in Eugene against the Emeralds would also put him in line to start the Bears’ home opener on Wednesday.

After 23 seasons back in Yakima, it appears that the short-season A ball club Yakima Bears will be relocating to Hillsboro, Oregon.
