Bomb Squad Gives All Clear After Checking Backpack

A bomb disposal unit from the Yakima Training Center gave the all clear after checking out a suspicious backpack found in front of the Selah Civic Center this morning. Selah fire officials say First Street was closed between Jim Clements Way and Yakima Avenue. But the roadway is now open.

The backpack apparently belonged to someone who simply forgot it at a bus stop in the area.
