The Seattle Seahawks announced that sixth-round pick Garrett Scott has been waived Friday afternoon.

Scott, a  tackle from Marshall University, didn't participate in the team's mini-camp last weekend because he couldn't pass a physical. During Scott's physical, the team discovered a rare heart condition that will keep him out of playing football in the future.

Although Scott was released today, the Seahawks had signed him to his rookie contract yesterday, ensuring that Scott will receive his signing bonus for being drafted.

Scott played both tackle and guard positions in college and was expected to compete for a position on Seattle's offensive line.
