RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks have waived cornerback Tharold Simon, a former fifth-round draft pick who has struggled with injuries.

Seattle also signed cornerback Neiko Thorpe, who appeared in 28 games over the past two seasons with Oakland. Thorpe had been given a second-round restricted free agent tender in the spring, but was among the final cuts by the Raiders at the conclusion of training camp. Thorpe was briefly with the Colts last week before getting cut.

Simon had gotten high praise for his improvement during training camp but his entire career has been slowed by various injuries.

Seattle also waived rookie fullback Tani Tupou and signed veteran Will Tukuafu.

The Seahawks did not add a quarterback to the active roster, another sign that Russell Wilson is expected to play Sunday at Los Angeles. Quarterback Jake Heaps, who was with Seattle in training camp, was signed to the practice squad.
