NFL rosters have to be reduced from 90 at 75 players by Tuesday, and Seattle got a head start on the process Monday, trimming eight.

Two players had their contracts terminated, veteran offensive lineman Wade Smith and cornerback Terrell Thomas. These players are now unrestricted free agents.

Waived were tackle Cory Brandon, running back Demitrius Bronson, safety Mike Dobson, defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, wide receiver Kevin Smith and cornerback Thomas Wolfe.

Jeffcoat had four preseason tackles, while Bronson rushed for 45 yards against Chicago.

The Seahawks have to get down to 75 players by 1 p.m. Tuesday, and then get down to 53 players by Saturday, Aug. 30.

Seattle closes out their preseason schedule Thursday in Oakland against the Raiders. The broadcast starts with a 5 p.m. pregame show on AM 1280 and FM 99.3 Newstalk KIT.
