Seattle placed four players on various injured reserve lists and released three more to get down to the league-mandated 75-player roster limit on Tuesday.

Special teams captain linebacker Heath Farwell was put on the injured reserve list with a severe groin injury that team officials say will probably require surgery. Farwell was hurt during the fourth quarter of the Seahawks win over Chicago last Friday.

Offensive lineman C.J. Davis and defensive back A.J. Jefferson were also placed on injured reserve. Davis, Jefferson and Farwell will not play in 2014, but remain on the team.

A 2014 sixth-round draft pick, defensive back Eric Pinkins, was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list. Pinkins could return to the field later this season.

Three players were waived as injured: defensive lineman Michael Brooks, linebacker Horace Miller and wide receiver David Gilreath.
