Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett, a cornerstone of the Seahawks' smothering defense, is reportedly seeking a trade to the Atlanta Falcons.

A Fort Worth, Texas, newspaper cited multiple sources saying Bennett wanted to force a trade to Atlanta, and that he wanted to renegotiate the four-year, $32 million contract he signed before the 2014 season.

The Seahawks have not commented on the reports, but other sources say that the team has not received any trade demands.

Bennett is a fan favorite in Seattle, He signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2009, but was waived in October of that year. He signed and played with Tampa Bay for three seasons before coming back to Seattle in 2013.

Former Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is now the Falcon's head coach. That could be a reason that Bennett may be looking to move to Atlanta.
