Football is officially underway in the Yakima Valley! High Schools will take the field this Friday night but it was the little guys who got things kicked off this past weekend.

The 2016 Yakima Valley Grid Kids played a host of games in the upper and lower valley on Saturday. My son, Drew, began his third year playing organized football with the East Valley Apaches 'B' team who faced off against the Yakima Chiefs. It was a close game throughout with the Chiefs pulling within a point at 7-6 with :28 seconds left in the first half. On the ensuing kickoff, however, my 11year-old son Drew, returned it about 70 yards for a touchdown. Not the first time he's done that. Here's a clip of him taking a swing pass out of the backfield and going roughly the same distance for a score.
