WASHINGTON (AP) — Robert Griffin III has tweeted what sounded a lot like a goodbye to fans of the Redskins.

Griffin wrote Monday: "It was a blessing guys. I just want to say thank you."

Washington made clear it would part ways with Griffin by Wednesday to get his 2016 contract off the books before it became guaranteed for about $16 million.
