Rangers’ Banister and Cubs’ Maddon Managers of the Year

(AP) — The manager of the year awards were handed out early last night in baseball. The American League winner is Jeff Banister of the Rangers and Joe Maddon of the Cubs in the National League. A rookie skipper, Bannister is the fifth first-year manager to win the award, while Maddon has won three times now after two wins with the Rays in the AL.
