The Yakima Valley Pippins are as hot as the weather.

Sunday night, the Pippins extended their winning streak to seven games and tied the West Coast League's record for wins by shutting out the Kelowna Falcons, 2-0. Austin Woodard tossed a 10-strikeout complete game.

With a season record of 30-18, the Pippins are four games ahead of the Wenatchee AppleSox in the East Division of the West Coast League.

The Pippins had scoring opportunities early in Sunday's game with Kelowna. They loaded the bases, but the Falcons stopped the threat. Yakima did break through in the fifth inning, though, with an RBI single from Reid Martinez that made it 1-0 Pippins.

In the sixth, Shawn Wardian added to his RBI total with a sacrifice fly that made the final score 2-0 Pippins.
