YAKIMA, WA - The Yakima Valley Pippins scored the first two runs Monday night, but the Gresham GreyWolves closed things out with the final seven in a 7-2 loss at Yakima County Stadium.

Chris Ceballos (Cal State Fullerton) provided an early spark offensively, connecting on his West Coast League leading 7th double of the season, scoring Mitchell Morimoto (Arizona) and Branson Trube (Gonzaga), who led off with a double, for a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning.

Ryan Garcia (UCLA) earned the loss pitching just three innings on record leaving with nobody out in the 4th after allowing five runs, three earned, on five hits. The Gresham GreyWolves (8-12) scored four runs in a decisive 4th inning, forcing Andrew Bernstein (Cal Poly) out of the bullpen.

After four innings of work yielding two runs from Bernstein, Cameron Haskell (UC Riverside) closed out the final two frames scoreless featuring two strikeouts.

Aaron Shoup earned his first win of the season for the GreyWolves, pitching eight innings limiting the Pippins to just five hits on Little League Night. The Pippins (12-10) grounded into two double plays on the night, stranding four runners on base.

The Pippins and GreyWolves return to action Tuesday night for $2 Tuesday at Yakima County Stadium with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. Yakima native Jens Jensen (Central Washington) will start in the rubber match as the Pippins are now 3-2 against the GreyWolves.
