Andrew Woods had the Medford Rogues firing blanks as he delivered a seven-inning, three-strikeout performance for the Yakima Valley Pippins in Oregon on Monday, giving him his third win of the season.

In the second inning, Yakima's Jake Roberts led off with a double then scored on Shawn Wardian's RBI single. J.C. Snyder reached second on an errant throw to first base. Then Ryan Rosa used his opportunity at the plate to get his first RBI of the night with a single that brought in Snyder to make it 2-0 Pippins.

Once again the Pippins and Rogues delivered great pitching and flashed leather on great defensive plays that kept both teams from scoring from the third inning through the eighth. The Pippins applied final pressure on the Rogues by loading the bases with two outs. Ryan Rosa then delivered his second RBI of the night, scoring Wardian from third base.

Kenny Rosenberg earned his first save of the season as the Pippins made it 3-0 over Medford.

The win gives the Pippins a 21-11 West Coast League record, which keeps them four and a half games ahead of the Wenatchee AppleSox in the East Division.

And it ensures that they'll win eight of the 10 series they've played. They've also won seven of the their past eight games.

The Pippins and Rogues play again at 6:35 tonight. Pregame is at 6:25 on 1460 ESPN Yakima.
