GRESHAM, OR - The Yakima Valley Pippins scored three runs on four hits in the 9th inning, overcoming a 2-1 deficit entering the final frame for a dramatic 4-3 comeback victory over the Gresham GreyWolves on Thursday night at Oslund Field.

Jack Sandberg (San Diego) tied the game in the 9th inning with an RBI single, plating Jay Schuyler (San Diego), who led off the frame with a double into left field. Branson Trube (Gonzaga) gave the Pippins the lead, 3-2, on an RBI sacrifice fly, scoring Mitchell Morimoto (Arizona), and then Derek Molina (Cal State Northridge) provided the eventual game-winning RBI with a two-out hit.

In the bottom half of the frame, Trent Schulte (Gonzaga) inherited the tying runs on base out of the bullpen with nobody out and earned the save, allowing one run while striking out two batters in his first appearance of the season.

The Yakima Valley Pippins (5-0) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 4th inning as Mitchell Morimoto stole third base, advancing on a wild throw from catcher Matt Karo. Zach Draper (College of Idaho) posted his second straight shutout of the season pitching five innings and allowing two hits.

Zach Haggett (Central Washington University) was the first arm out of the bullpen throwing 2.2 innings of relief, surrendering two runs on five hits, stranding three (of Gresham's 13 total) runners left on base.
