The Yakima Valley Pippins extended their record to 28-18 Friday night with their fifth straight win, 2-1, over the Kelowna Falcons at Yakima County Stadium.

Mitch Yada made his second start of the season and Kenny Rosenberg got the save.

The Pippins scored in the first inning with an RBI single from Mitch Skaggs, and Reid Martinez hit into a double play that drove in the second run of the inning for the Pippins. The Falcons got on the scoreboard with an RBI single by Ryan Denger.

The win keeps Yakima all alone in first place in the East Division of the West Coast League.

The Pippins and Falcons play again at 7:05 tonight, with pregame starting at 6:55 on 1460 ESPN Yakima.
