When the Yakima Valley Pippins play the first game of their first season Friday night at 7:05, they'll be competing against two opponents.

On the field, it's their new rivals, the Wenatchee Applesox. But in the parking lot, it's West Valley High School, which is holding its graduation ceremony the same night, right next door at the SunDome.

What's a Pippins fan to do? Get there early and cooperate, the team's chief operating officer, Zachary Fraser recommends.

And rest assured, Fraser says, there'll be room for everyone.
