Yakima Valley Pippins bats were hot Thursday as the Pippins had 13 hits that put 15 runs on the scoreboard against the N.W. Honkers for their first back-to-back wins. The final score was 15-5.

J.C. Snyder got the scoring started with an RBI double in the first inning. Brandon Dormeyer tied things up in the second with an RBI single for the Honkers. Then things started to happen for the Pippins as Shawn Wardian boldly stole home on a straight steal to highlight the second inning, when they added two more runs for a 3-0 lead.

The Pippins added two runs in the fourth inning, then Vince Fernandez, Taylor Snyder and Ryan Yamane help lead a six-run fifth inning and finally added four more runs in the seventh inning to build an insurmountable 15-1 lead.

The Honkers added four more runs, but by then it was academic. Conner Lau got the win for the Pippins.

Tonight, the Klamath Falls Gems come to Yakima County Stadium to take on the Pippins. Game time is 7:05. The pregame starts 6:55 on 1460 ESPN.
