Miscues helped the Yakima Valley Pippins early as the Pippins defeated the N.W. Honkers 8-3 Wednesday night at Yakima County Stadium.Ryan Rosa led off the first inning with a single, Reed Martinez reached on a error, Randy Fuller singled and then Shawn Wardian walked to load the bases. Vincent Fernandez hit a ball in to right field which was misplayed, scoring three runs -- 3-0 Pippins.

In the second inning, the Pippins scored two more runs. Ryan Rosa hit an RBI triple then scored on a groundout by Reed Martinez, making 5-0 Pippins. In the Sixth, Honkers third baseman Eric Peterson misplayed a possible double-play grounder by Jake Roberts, scoring one more. Randy Fuller hit a two-run single to finish the scoring for the Pippins.

The win lifted the Pippins' record to 6-7 overall, 4-5 in the West Coast League.

The same two teams are back at it again in tonight at 6:55 on 1460 ESPN Yakima.
