WENATCHEE - The Yakima Valley Pippins pounded out 18 hits, scoring a season-high 11 runs in Sunday’s series sweep over the Wenatchee AppleSox, 11-0, inside Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.

Chris Ceballos (Cal State Fullerton) led the charge offensively with three doubles and four RBIs, finishing as one of six players with two or more hits. Mitchell Morimoto (Arizona) extended his hitting streak to three games with a 3-4 effort, featuring two RBIs and three runs scored.

Ryan Garcia (UCLA) earned the win tossing 6.0 scoreless innings, liming the AppleSox (0-3) to just three hits while striking out four in the process. Over the entire 3-game series, the Pippins starting pitchers combined to throw 17 innings of work, allowing just one earned run.

The scoring began in the third inning when Morimoto doubled into deep right center field, then scoring on the first of three doubles by Ceballos.

Yakima Valley (3-0) would add on in the sixth inning when the first six men all reached base in the frame Ryan Garcia started the scoring when he entered to hit for himself as the starting pitcher, delivering an RBI single into center field.

Nine different players produced hits for the Pippins, who improved to 3-0 for the second straight season in West Coast League play.

Derek Molina (Cal State Northridge) provided the ultimate separation on the scoreboard with a 2-RBI single in the 6th inning, extending the lead, 7-0. Connor Lau (Central Washington - 2 IP) and Drake Atlee (Cal State Northridge) combined to pitch the final three innings on Sunday night, allowing just one hit out of the bullpen.
