The Yakima Valley Pippins broke out the brooms Sunday to get their second sweep of the season after handing the Kitsap BlueJackets an 8-4 loss.J.C. Snyder and Shawn Wardian both walked then completed a double steal. A balk was called against the BlueJackets' Tarik Skubal, scoring Snyder.

The BlueJackets started to get to Beau Kern, who gave up an RBI double to Anthony
Blackie and an RBI single to Jeffery Bohling. But after the BlueJackets had taken a lead of 2-1, the Pippins' bats exploded.

Yakima started things off with a double from Wardian, who scored on the Ryan Yamane sacrifice bunt to tie the game, 2-2. Then the Pippins'  Jacobs and Fernandez both connected with RBI singles to put their team up 4-2.

Things got even wilder in the sixth inning, when Randy Fuller crushed a double and Shawn Wardian walked to load the bases. Hot-hitting Ryan Yamane then stroked a two-run RBI single. The Pippins finished their scoring on a wild pitch and an RBI single by Vince Fernandez.

The BlueJackets scored their final two runs on two singles and a double with two errors.

Next, the Walla Walla Sweets come to town Monday night -- game time is 7:05 and pregame is at 6:55 on 1460 ESPN.
