A great pitching performance by Eli Morgan sparked the Yakima Valley Pippins to a 7-2 victory over the Walla Walla Sweets on Wednesday night at Yakima County Stadium.Reed Martinez, meantime, had an RBI sacrifice fly and single in the third inning to keep the Pippins on pace with the Sweets.

With the game tied at 2-2, Yakima's Ryan Rosa walked, bringing in a run in the fourth inning. And in the fifth, Taylor Snyder hit a two-run single and Shawn Wardian delivered an RBI double to put the Pippins up 5-2.

Yakima never looked back as the Pippins added two more runs on RBI singles from Vince Fernandez and Reed Martinez.

The win brings Morgan to 4-0 on the season, and snaps a two-game losing streak for the Pippins (16-10 overall, 13-8 in West Coast League play), who had dropped the first two games of this home stand to the Sweets.

The two teams now shift to Walla Walla for another three-game series starting tonight. First pitch is at 7:05, pregame is at 6:55 on 1460 ESPN.
