Paxton Takes the Mount Today and Taijuan Getting MRI on Right Foot
Paxton to start vs. Verlander Tuesday
DETROIT (AP) — The Seattle Mariners will start left-hander James Paxton as their four game series continues in Detroit.
Paxton is 1-2 and comes into the game with a 2.86 ERA.
The Tigers will counter with right-hander Justin Verlander, with Verlander going for a win in a fourth straight outing.
Walker getting MRI on right foot
DETROIT (AP) — Seattle Mariners pitcher Taijuan Walker has left the team for now as he looks into a possible foot issue.
The Mariners say Walker is getting an MRI on his right foot after it bothered him during a five-inning, 88-pitch start on Sunday. Walker didn't give up a run in the contest but the Mariners wound up losing the game to Boston, 2-1.
Walker is scheduled to start Friday at home against St. Louis, but that outing might be in jeopardy.
