James Paxton fanned 10 Royals batters and Kyle Seager stroked a two-run bomb in the 8th inning to break a 2-2 tie to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 4-2 victory today in Kansas City. Seager also drove in a run with sacrifice fly in the first.

In relief, Nick Vincent (1-0) worked a perfect seventh to earn the win, and Juan Nicasio retired three in a row after putting runners on base, before closer Edwin Diaz entered to earn his fourth save in five appearances.

The M's finished their road trip to San Francisco, Minnesota and Kansas City with a 4-3 record.

Following an off-day tomorrow, Seattle returns to Safeco Field for seven games. Mike Leake is on the hill Friday night against the Oakland A's.
