You may have missed it over the weekend but on Sunday, legendary motorsports competitor and stunt performer Travis Pastrana recreated three jumps originally attempted by the late king of all daredevils - Evel Knievel.

Pastrana paid tribute to Knievel in Las Vegas by jumping his motorcycle over 52 cars, followed by clearing 16 Greyhound buses and lastly nailing Evel's iconic stunt by hurtling over the fountains at Caesar's Palace.

While Knievel's acts of bravery have long-since been matched or outdone, he truly blazed a trail that once brought him to Yakima.

In May of 1970, John Noel and Don Trammell brought the star-spangled icon to Yakima Speedway where he attempted to jump over 13 Pepsi-Cola trucks while atop a 750 cc American Eagle.
