Oakland’s Yoenis Cespedes Makes One of the Best Throws You’ll Ever See [VIDEO]
Oakland outfielder Yoenis Cespedes has played an integral role in making the A's one of the top teams in the American League. In only his third year in MLB, Cespedes doesn't have quite the hype and flash as fellow Cuban Yasiel Puig, but the talent is unquestioned.
The 28-year-old has had his ups and downs at the plate (batted .240 in 2013 and currently hitting .254), but Cespedes continues to deliver in the field. So much so that runners have given up trying to advance an extra base when the ball is hit his way.
But not Tuesday night.
After Cespedes mishandled a ball in left field, the Angels' Howie Kendrick figured he'd easily take home. With 99 percent of Major League Baseball players, that would have been a routine run. As soon as Cespedes sees Kendrick make round third, he takes full advantage of his chance to show of his cannon.
The throw travels all the way from the left field corner to home plate, on the fly and on the money, for the out. The A's would go on to lose in 14 innings, but you won't see a better throw all year.
