SEATTLE (AP) — Washington coach Chris Petersen says the 10th-ranked Huskies will be facing possibly the best defense in the league when they open Pac-12 play against Utah. Petersen says the blocking will need to be better against the Utes than it was against North Dakota last weekend. The Huskies beat North Dakota 45-3 but they were far from crisp. Washington faces Utah on Saturday night in Salt Lake City.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks are still waiting to learn the severity of the injury to Doug Baldwin's right knee. Coach Pete Carroll said on his radio show in Seattle on Monday that there was no update on how long Baldwin may be out. Baldwin sprained the MCL in the knee early in Sunday's loss to Denver.

SEATTLE (AP) — The Washington Mystics head back home facing a 2-0 deficit in the WNBA Finals, as well as long odds. The history of teams that have faced a 2-0 deficit since the league went to a best-of-five format doesn't paint an optimistic picture for the Mystics. It's happened four times before and all four times the trailing team has been swept. Washington hosts the Seattle Storm for Game 3 on Wednesday.
