The Walla Walla Sweets snapped the Yakima Valley Pippins' six-game winning streak Monday night, 5-3 -- but it took extra innings.

In the first two innings, Sean Brouchard hit two RBI singles and Kevin Morgan delivered an RBI triple for the Sweets. Ryan Rosa then got the Pippins on the scoreboard with his RBI triple and later scored on a wild pitch to pull the Pips within 3-2.

Vince Fernandez once again flexed his batting power in the fourth inning by destroying a pitch with a massive HR. It was his third of the season, coupled with 15 RBIs.

The pitching for both the Pippins and Sweets shut down the batters all the way to the 11th inning, when Andrew Mendenhall got hold of a pitch and delivered a two-run double to make the final 5-3 Walla Walla.

The Pippins and Sweets are back at it again tonight with the first pitch at 7:05. Pregame's at 6:55 -- listen live on 1460 ESPN Yakima.
