SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — No. 11 Southern California meets No. 14 Stanford tonight in the Pac-12 title game with a spot in the Fiesta Bowl on the line.

Stanford will be looking for revenge after getting overpowered by the Trojans 42-24 in the second game of the season.

The Cardinal defense has improved since giving up 623 yards of offense to Sam Darnold and the Trojans in the first meeting, the highest total allowed in coach David Shaw's seven seasons. USC gained more than 300 yards through the air and on the ground and dominated the line of scrimmage. In the past eight games, Stanford hasn't allowed more than 430 yards or 24 points.

The loser of tonight's contest loser will go to a lower-tier bowl, with USC likely targeted for the Alamo Bowl and Stanford for the Holiday Bowl.
