While the Seattle Mariners certainly haven't gotten off to the start that many expected them to this year, especially with the addition of slugger Nelson Cruz, you can hardly blame the M's DH for their mediocre record (21-23) up to this point.

Cruz, who signed with Seattle this past off-season, is amongst the American League's leaders in the three major offensive statistical categories: Batting Average (.341, 3rd), Runs Batted In (35, T-2nd) and Home Runs (17, 1st).

He also now leads all Designated Hitters in balloting for this July's MLB All-Star game to be held in Cincinnati.  Cruz has already amassed 1,225,255 votes, far outpacing runner-up Kendrys Morales by more than 300,000 votes.
