Following former Mariners first baseman Justin Smoak north of the border, Seattle outfielder Michael Saunders is now the newest member of the Toronto Blue Jays after the two teams completed a trade Wednesday.

In return, the Mariners got 32-year-old lefty J.A. Happ, who went 11-11 in 26 starts for Toronto last season and is 51-53 for his career despite finishing second in the 2009 NL Rookie of the Year voting after going 12-4 for the Philadelphia Phillies.

The rumor mill still has GM Jack Zurendczik looking for another right-handed power bat to patrol the outfield on a daily basis. Braves OF Justin Upton's name is frequently bandied about. Former Yakima Bear Carlos Gonzales of the Colorado Rockies has also been mentioned as a possibility.
