The Yakima Valley Pippins dropped their fourth straight game Saturday and got swept by Wenatchee AppleSox, 4-2. The loss tightens the West Coast League's East Division, bringing Wenatchee to within two games of the division leading Pippins.

The Pippins got a fast score in the first inning Saturday as Vince Fernandez hit into a double play RBI that drove in Justin Jacobs. Wenatchee came right back to tie the game on a Caleb Wood fielders' choice that scored Tyler Frost.

In the fourth inning, the AppleSox's Ty Jackson crushed a pitch that could've been the longest HR this season at Yakima County Stadium and gave Wenatchee a 2-1 lead.

Wenatchee got some help from errors by the Pippins to put another run on the board in the fifth, but the Pippins tried to retake the lead in the sixth, putting runners in scoring positions, but only managing a run from an RBI double from Mitch Skaggs 3-2.

Both teams battled each other from scoring in the innings of 7th and 8th. Wenatchee notched  a insurance run from a sacrifice fly by Kyle Vanderkin. final score AppleSox 4 and Pippins 2. Pippins are now 21- 15. Two game ahead of Wenatchee in the Eastern Division.

Team are taking the next couple of days off due to the WCL All-Star game in Klamath Falls. Eli Morgan, Shawn Wardian, Vince Fernandez and Jake Roberts will be representing the Pippins on Monday night. Hear the game at 6:35 p.m. on 1460 ESPN Yakima.
