Lack of Snow Forces Cancellation of 1st Men’s WCup Downhill

LAKE LOUISE, Alberta (AP) — Lack of snow in Canada has forced the cancellation of the first men's World Cup speed races of the season.

The International Ski Federation says warm temperatures and "unfavorable weather forecasts" were also a factor in canceling the Nov. 26-27 races in Lake Louise, Alberta.

A downhill was scheduled for the Saturday and a super-G on Sunday.

FIS says "a possible replacement will be communicated in due course."

The Lake Louise course is also due to host the women's World Cup the following week, with two downhills and a super-G scheduled.
