Felix Hernandez vies to become the Major League's first nine-game winner tonight when the New York Yankees head into SafeCo Field to open a three game series with the Mariners.

On the bump for the Bronx Bombers will be former Mariners' all-star Michael Pineda who was traded for then top prospect Miguel Montero.  While Montero is stationed at AAA Tacoma, Pineda has flourished this year after recovering from injuries which have limited his ability to play the past two seasons.

The M's are currently in fourth place in the AL West with a 24-26 record and sit 6.5 games back of leader Houston.
