Despite enjoying a rare night off from their regular season schedule, the Yakima Valley Pippins still managed to celebrate Thursday.

Benefactors of a 10-2 Corvallis victory, the Pipps clinched their second playoff berth in three seasons in the West Coast League as the Gresham GreyWolves were eliminated from post-season contention.

The Pippins (31-20) captured the second half flag by running up a record of 16 victories against eight losses. Yakima Valley will host Corvallis in the first game of the best-of-three series on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Yakima County Stadium. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) will be in Corvallis on Wednesday, Aug. 10, and Thursday, Aug. 11.

Tickets are available now at the Pippins office at 12 South Second Street in the Larson Building and start as low as just $6.

For more information about playoff tickets, call the Pippins office at 509-575-4487.

The winner of the South Division will meet the North Division champion in the best-of-three WCL championship series, which begins Saturday, Aug. 13.
