The Yakima Valley Pippins swept the Walla Walla Sweets by rolling to a 4-1 victory Thursday night in Walla Walla.

Yakima's Andrew Woods, Beau Kerns, Kenny Rosenberg and Nick Kern combined for a one-run, five-hit performance that gave Woods his fourth win of the season and Kern save number six.

Walla Walla got the scoring going in the third inning with a sacrifice fly from Parker Osborne that scored the Sweets' only run of the game.

The Pippins answered in the fourth with two runs off RBIs by Trey Labrie and Harrison Ramey and went up 2-1.

In the seventh inning, the Pippins' pitching got a little shaky as three walks loaded the bases. But Kenny Rosenberg struck out the Sweets to retire any scoring threat. Yakima added two more to the score with RBIs from Vince Fernandez and Trey Labrie.

Yakima (27-18) has now won four straight and holds a three-game advantage over the Wenatchee AppleSox in the West Coast League's East Division. The Pippins will be home tonight to take on the Kelowna Falcons at 7:05 in Yakima County Stadium. Pregame coverage begins at 6:55 p.m.on 1460 ESPN Yakima.
