Jake Browning, a highly touted quarterback from California has committed to the University of Washington.  The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Browning passed for 5,737 yards and a state-record 75 touchdowns in 2013 as a junior for Folsom High School and he was named Gatorade California Player of the Year. This came on the heels of a sophomore season in which he threw for 5,248 yards and 63 scores.

Browning’s commitment, while not binding, could have an impact on where the State of Washington's top recruit will go. Shadle Parks's Brett Rypien was rumored to have the Huskies on top of his list of potential schools. But after Browning’s commitment, Rypien is now rumored to be choosing between Boise State and Washington State. Rypien is the nephew of former Cougars and Washington Redskins star Mark Rypien.
